Our District

Mount Markham is located in the Mohawk Valley-Central New York area and is the second-largest school district in Herkimer County. Our school district spans four counties and includes many townships.

Established in 1969, Mount Markham is a consolidated school district formed by merging three smaller central school districts: Bridgewater, Leonardsville, and West Winfield. Mount Markham Central School District boasts an abundance of alluring natural landscapes. Among them is the distinctive silhouette of the district's namesake, Mount Markham, which rises above the scenic Unadilla River Valley floor.

Mount Markham is a large, diverse community that shares a common rural heritage. We believe that every child in Mount Markham is a gift to be appreciated and nurtured. Together, we aim to challenge and inspire our children to become lifelong learners.
